Arthur
was the last puppy in his litter to go off to his new home. It
took a while to find just the right owner, but when I met
Grace I knew she and Arthur would be a perfect
match. Arthur was a little more laid back then his
brothers but just as equally friendly. He has
adjusted well to life in the Windy City & his Mom is
great about getting him out into the country every
now and then.
Grace
was new to the world of dog shows and performance
events when she got Arthur but she was eager to
explore all the dog world had to offer. When Arthur
was 6 months they began hitting the show ring. Grace
quickly caught on to the show ring procedure and
soon was handling Arthur with confidence.
Within a
short time this team earned their first points with
style by acquiring a 3 point major. Since then Grace
has also handled Arthur to a Best In Puppy Sweeps at
the FRFSC specialty and to another 3 point major.
As
Grace loved showing so much it took some effort to
convince her to give the performance venues a try.
She was reluctant at first but after I insisted that
she at least attempt/attend two different
performance venues she gave in. Arthur first tried
hunting and proved to have the hunting bug. In a
short time he
demonstrated some very nice drive and determination
. Within a few weeks Arthur was working on
quartering and was retrieving to hand. When the
winter weather approached & gas prices hit an all
time high hunt training
had to be put on hold. At that time Grace
decided to give agility a try. Much to her surprise
Arthur turned out to be a speed demon with a lot of
natural ability! By the second
class the two of them found themselves being placed
in the advanced class!
Grace plans on continuing in showing, agility and
competitive obedience at this time.
We are just pleased that both
Arthur and Grace took the time to try the
different sports the dog world has to offer.
Watch for Grace
and Arthur in 2008 in both the show & performance ring .....
11-17-07 Grace and Arthur attended the FRFSC
specialty. Despite a few issues in the ring Arthur
strutted away with a BEST In SWEEPS. We are very
proud of both Grace and Arthur!
