My love for Field Spaniels
began in 1996 when I acquired my first Field Spaniel, Maplesugar a Wish Come True “Rio”. Since then my love and devotion
for the breed has grown with each passing year. Over the years I have had the pleasure of showing my Fields not only in conformation,
but obedience and other performance events as well. I am very proud of my dogs and their many accomplishments. We have achieved
placements in obedience and rally, met requirements for the Hall of Fame and earned the first TDX on a Field Spaniel bitch.
In the fall of 2004 I met
my husband Jay. Although new to showing dogs Jay has taken everything in stride. Jay has participated in the training
of the girls for their various performance events. He soon became adamant about having his own dog to work with after watching
Paige acquire her TD title. I simply feel blessed to not only have a wonderful man in my life, but one that shares my love of
the dogs.

In January of 2008 we welcomed our son Josh
to the family. Josh is quickly growing up. He
has already started teaching his stuff puppy
"Pooch" how to do agility jumps, give high
five and fetch. As a regular at
agility trials and hunt training and he
loves to sit and watch the dogs work. He
will often tell the unruly puppies to "sit". Who
knows - we might have a future trainer in
our mists! Josh loves to help out with
grooming and feeding the dogs- so he is
already learning how to be a good puppy
owner.
In April of 2010 we welcomed our second son
Caleb into the family. Caleb so far has been
a calm and sweet baby. He is the apple of
everyone's eye and will surely be spoiled by
all the attention he receives. Big bother
Josh is already trying to teach him the
ropes!

To date we have bred
only 1 litter of Field Spaniels that
was born
in 2007. From this outstanding litter we
have the First Champion Tracking Field Bitch
& VST titlist Field Spaniel bitch, Best
In Specialty Show Winner, - 5
Champions- and a total of 27 titles. Two of
our Killara Dogs are multiple Group placers
and have finished in the top 20 for the
breed. We believe in QUALITY
and not quantity. In 2008 we were honored by
the Field Spaniel Society Of America to be
awarded Breeder of the Year for Champion Titles
- this is based on our one litter and not
MULTIPLE litters nor co-bred dogs.
We continue to strive
to produce the healthiest Field
Spaniels who are not only a joy to live but
are an excellent representation of the
breed.

Many thanks to breeder
Kristy Hill of Catera Field Spaniels for sharing her wonderful dogs with me. They truly embrace the idea of “one dog
that does it all”.
About the name
“Killara”:
When I was in
Australia
on vacation, I was enamored with the relaxed atmosphere and the exquisite beauty the country possesses. I loved my time that
I spent there admiring the artwork of the various cultures. I came across an aboriginal dictionary and found the word killara
<pronounced kil-lar-a>. Killara is an aboriginal word that means “permanent place”. This reflected how Jay
and I feel about the dogs that are always a part of our home and will always occupy a permanent place in our hearts. Consequently,
the kennel name Killara was chosen to represent our Field Spaniels
