Tessa’s strong
and determined personality was apparent since the
day she was born. This spunky girl is a fighter and
doesn’t let anything get her down. She was the bold,
confident girl in the litter who always went off on
her own to investigate and explore. It was hard to
give her up as her beautiful face and sweet
personality made her one of the favorites. Always
the last puppy to come in from outside, <which
earned her the nick name “stinky”> her mother
reports this has not changed the least bit.
When Paige was pregnant Anita approached me about
possible getting a puppy. She explained she
wanted girl that she could both show & earn the
performance titles with. As Tessa was an independent
little girl I was hesitant at first about sending
her off to Anita. I gave Anita a list of pros and
cons about each of the available girls, hoping that
she could give me a better idea as to who she felt
was the better match for her. By the time Anita
arrived to pick up her baby she walked in and
announced "I am taking my pink girl" and with that
the perfect match was made. Tessa started classes as
a pup and soon she was hitting the show ring. In a
short time she had earned multiple single points and
Best of Breeds against older competition. In the
fall of 2007 at just 10 months old Tessa walked away
with Best of Opposite in Puppy sweeps at the FSSA
National. The next day she took the 5 point major at
the supported entry trailer show.
Tessa is proving to be a versatile girl like her
momma Paige. She has been hard at work training in
conformation, agility and obedience. She has already
earned her Rally Novice title and is currently
working towards her Companion Dog (CD) title. She is growing
up to be a beautiful girl with lovely structure and
“fear nothing” attitude. Tessa finished
her Championship at just 1 1/2 years old and was
owner/handled for all her points by Anita! During her free time she
loves to hang out on the family’s boat with the
other 4 legged kids in the family. Watch for Tess in
2008 as this
little super star will be seen in both the show &
performance ring.
09-10-07 Tessa is slowly
coming into her own. She has earned 3 Best of breeds
to date. Tessa has been working hard on her training
learning to free stack and to gait nicely. She has a
happy out-going in the ring and her effortless
movement sets her apart from others.
10-26-07 Tessa headed to
California with Anita & big sister Emma for the 2007
FSSA National Specialty. This was the first national
for all the girls! As Anita had 2 girls Kristy Hill
offered to show Emma for Anita. Well Anita didn't
have high expectations when she walked into the
Puppy Sweeps class with Tessa. Soon she was floating
on air when the Judge pointed to Tessa for BOS in
the puppy sweeps! Anita's day continue to get better
when Kristy Hill skillfully guided Emma to Winner's
Bitch and Best of Opposite for a 5 point major! We
are proud of all the ladies!
10-27-07 The very next day at
the FSSA national trailer shows Tessa strutted away
with Winner's Bitch for a 5 point major. As usual
Tessa was owner/handled by Anita. I don't know if
Anita's head has stopped spinning from the past two
days....but I hope she gets used to being in the
winner's circle!
12-08-07 Tessa went into
the rally ring for the first time and walked away
with her first RN leg. Her owner reported the ring
conditions were less then ideal. <dirt floor arena
with lots of smells!> However Tessa did well and
listened to her mom! Not bad for an 11 month old
puppy!
07-19-08 Anita and Tessa do
it again and this time walk away with a 4 point
major to finish Tessa's Championship! Tessa was
owner/handled by Anita for all her points. We are
extremely proud of Anita & Tessa for this wonderful
accomplishment!
03-22-09 Anita and Tessa
went to the George Alston Advanced Handling seminar.
She was thrilled to find out she was doing
everything right and was than shocked when awarded
2nd place for her handling skills! We are just
thrilled for Anita & Tessa! Way to go girls!
04-26-09 All we can say is
WOW. Within two weeks Tessa earns two Group 4
placements. Tessa has just begun her specials career
and we are very please as she seems to be off to a
WONDERFUL start. A big THANK YOU to Anita for doing
such a great job with her!
